"Gender Equality, Science and Companies: beyond the white-collar"

23 February 2021 ·

According to multiple parties, progress towards gender equality in the private sector is moving at a slow pace. However, much less is known about how this disparity affects scientists in the private sector than in the public one (institutes, universities…). To shed some light in the matter, CEBE organizes this year the roundtable "Gender Equality, Science and Companies: beyond the white-collar", where scientists coming from different fields and positions in the private sector will help us to get a holistic view on the topic by providing some first-hand information and experience.

For this roundtable, we are delighted to count with Aurelia Ngoko, Ana Polanco Álvarez and Katya Vladislavleva.

Aurelia Ngoko, who works in the scientific direction of the L'Oréal group in Belgium. She is also responsible for the deployment of L'Oréal's "For Women in Science" program in Belgium.

Ana Polanco Álvarez, Head of Operations Europe Global Market Access and Pricing in the pharmaceutical multinational Merck. She is also the president of the Spanish Biotech Companies Association (ASEBIO).

Katya Vladislavleva, founder, CEO and Chief Data Scientist of the Belgian spinoff Datastories, focused on industrial applications of AI.

This roundtable will be in English and online to comply with Covid measures.
